WATER REUSE

Twenty five percent of the surface of our planet is composed of rock, earth, sand, salt etc. which constitute the 5 continents.

The remaining 72% is made up of salt water that is in the seas unavailable for human and industrial use.

Only 3% is fresh water and it is in clouds, rivers, aquifers, glaciers, snow.

However, this fresh water is distributed irregularly in the planet, to the point that millions of inhabitants do not have access to this resource.

Climate change causes areas of intense drought and others suffer devastating floods.

It is necessary to point out the importance of caring for this resource at the planetary level.

Since the foundation of our company we have looked at this problem for the care of the water resource, and therefore we strive daily not only in the search for methods, processes and products but also in the REUSE OF RESIDUAL WATER GENERATED IN THE DIFFERENT PROCESSES.

In our Mini Tanning Laboratory, we perform soaking of salted and dry leather, chrome tanning processes, vegetable and chrome-free, also starting from wet-blue we perform retanning, dyeing and fatliquoring operations, in which we test our products.

The new developments and also proposals for less pollution processes are aimed at limiting the supply of water.

All these operations originate residual liquids of different characteristics, they are separated into
three types:

 

1. WASHING-SOAKING AND UNHAIRING OF SKINS
2. TANNING OF PELTS
3. NEUTRALIZING, RETANNING, DYEING AND FATLIQUOR
   
   

These liquid effluents and its solids are sent separately to our Mini Liquid Effluent Treatment Plant. They are treated by physical-chemical (primary) and biologic (secondary) processes.

We obtain wastewater with the purity necessary to be discharged into water courses or collector, complying with the requirements of the competent authority.
